Appointment Reminders and Confirmation Text

Image
Did you know that when you schedule an appointment at Elysian Auto Service that you will receive an appointment reminder via text message? You will receive a message 7 days in advance.  You will also receive a message the night before your appointment.  We know how hectic life can get, and find that this is a great way to give our customers a friendly reminder of their service appointment.  The night before your appointment you will receive a text message reminder, at the bottom of the message it asks for you to reply C to confirm your appointment. This lets us know that your scheduled appointment time still works and that you will be there. If we don’t receive a confirmation we aren’t sure if your appointment time still works or if you will be coming.

Why Should You Change Your Cabin Air Filter? Mold Spores and Harmful Bacteria: BG Frigi Fresh Have you noticed a musty smell coming from your vehicle's heating/AC vents? Or maybe your allergies flare when in the car? Odds are you have a dirty cabin air filter, and also bacteria and mold growth in your heating/AC system. Because of the cold and wet moisture, this is the perfect condition to grow these harmful contaminants. The Minnesota weather especially excels this issue with our constantly changing temperatures, you might run your heat and AC all in the same day! Your cabin air filter is what filters the outside air before it enters your cabin. It helps to stop dust, dirt, mold, and exhaust fumes from entering your heating/AC system. When your filter is not changed regularly it becomes clogged and isn’t able to properly filter out contaminants before they reach your cabin and you breathe them in. We recommend changing your c

Elysian Auto Service: BG Engine Services

Elysian Auto Service: BG Engine Services Last week we introduced you to BG Products and talked a little bit about who they are. Today I want to introduce you to some of their products/services. BG Products offers multiple engine services. A majority of their products are created to improve performance and clean up deposits.  BG Engine Performance Restoration: EPR removes deposits from piston rings and passageways. It helps restore compression, power, and fuel economy. This should be done especially if you accidentally went over your oil change interval. Going over oil change intervals means the oil becomes dirtier and creates more deposits . EPR will help to clean up the deposits left behind from the dirty oil. BG Advanced Formula MOA: This is added with new oil, it keeps piston rings from sticking. It helps to stabilize oil viscosity and reduce wear. It also will help prevent sludge. This should be done at every oil change to maintain protection. MOA will maximize your oil, especi

What is a cabin air filter and when should you change it? A cabin air filter cleans the air that comes into the interior of your vehicle. The filter catches pollen, dust, and other unpleasant materials found in the air. Kenny is holding a dirty filter on the left and a clean one on the right. It is recommended that you change your cabin air filter yearly or every 15,000 miles. If you are someone who lives on gravel, has allergies, or respiratory problems you might want to consider changing it more frequently. When you bring your vehicle into Elysian Auto Service we always take a photo of your filter and include it in your 42-Point Digital Inspection.

Winter Maintenance: Fluids  Winter is right around the corner! Living in Minnesota, it is important to make sure your vehicle's fluids are ready for the cold. A couple particular fluids are very important to ensure your vehicle runs properly. You want to pay close attention to your: -Anti-Freeze/Coolant: Antifreeze ensures that your engine does not freeze up in the winter or overheat in the summer. Some antifreeze comes as a concentrated liquid and some are already pre-diluted. Make sure you pay special attention to which you buy, and that if needed you properly dilute it. We suggest a coolant service every 30,000 miles or 3 years.  -Oil: Make sure your oil change and filter are both up to date. Cold oil has a thicker consistency which puts more pressure on the filter. You want to make sure you have a clean filter, this will ensure that the oil can pass through with minimum resistance.  -Windshield Washer Fluid: Check your windshield fluid level and make sure you have a fluid rat
