Q :  WHAT IS THE AAA APPROVED AUTO REPAIR PROGRAM?
A:  The AAA Approved Auto Repair (AAR) program was created to address one of the most frequent consumer complaints in America — unsatisfactory automobile repairs.  The program does this by providing AAA members and other consumers with repair facilities that meet and maintain AAA’s high standards and requirements.  Since the program began in 1975, more than 8,000 auto repair facilities have been established in the United States and Canada.

Q:  HOW DOES AAA GO ABOUT APPROVING REPAIR SHOP FOR THE AAR PROGRAM?

A:  AAA conducts a comprehensive certification process in which the AAR committee members review and assess each AAA Approved Auto Repair applicant to ensure they meet AAA’s high standards and pre-established requirements before any approvals are granted.  Some of the requirements and criteria include an onsite inspection of the facility (appearance, equipment, etc.), ASE Certified Technicians, satisfactory customer service ratings administered through customer surveys, business and community reputation, training standards, fair pricing that meets industry standards, and many more.  Once a facility is approved, the AAR staff conducts routine visits and an annual inspection to ensure AAA standards are continuously being met.   
              
Q:  WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS AAA MEMBERS RECEIVE WHEN THEY VISIT AN AAR SHOP?

A:  In addition to receiving high-quality service from reliable and knowledgeable facilities that you can trust, AAA members also receive free vehicle maintenance inspections, a 24-month/24,000 mile warranty on repairs, 10% AAA discount off labor, priority service, and mediation by AAA in the event a disagreement arises between the AAA member and AAR shop.

    



Q:  WHEN DID YOU FIRST START WORKING WITH THE AAA APPROVED AUTO REPAIR (AAR PROGRAM)?


A:  I have served as an AAR Coordinator for the AAA Approved Auto Repair program for nearly 9 years.  It has been a privilege to assist our AAA members with their repair needs and work with repair facilities that offer peace of mind and deliver the best service possible for AAA members.
